Musser Public Library in Muscatine, Iowa, has been a cornerstone for reading, learning, and discovery since 1902. Over the decades, they’ve empowered their community to engage in a creative, intellectual life.
Recently, the library initiated a pilot project to address noise challenges in Room 104—one of their most acoustically difficult spaces due to a large empty atrium space above the conference table and predominantly glass walls. Partnering with Paragon Interiors and Zilenzio, they installed Dezibel Ceiling and Dezibel Wall absorbers made from stone wool, designed for exceptional sound absorption.
“Our board was very pleased with the installation, both the aesthetics and the improved acoustics,” says Robert A. Fiedler III, Director at Musser Public Library & HNI Community Center in Muscatine, Iowa.
The project has inspired possibilities for the future.
“The thinking was that if we could make an improvement in that room, then we would have a better chance of reducing ambient noise in other areas of the library. We look forward to considering additional Zilenzio options in our building moving forward,” Fiedler says.
