The exhibition Prep Work explores the design, spatial, and sensory factors that are synergized in the workplace of the future to improve morale, creativity, well-being, and productivity.
This exhibition is rooted in a study of the future workplace and translates its findings into spatial design to illustrate changes in how we work—and, more importantly, where we work. It features a series of curated, experience-based zones that include the elements believed to enhance inspiration, motivation, and efficiency in the workplace.
Beyond the visual and spatial aspects of this working environment, light conditions, sound insulation, tactility, and scent are explored as key factors influencing workplace satisfaction.
Employees and colleagues also play a vital role in the functioning ecosystem, especially when it comes to diversity in personality, background, ethnicity, and sociopolitical beliefs. An ethnically diverse company is 35% more likely to outperform its peers. Together with selected collaborators from overlapping fields of expertise, Prep Work serves as a hub where seminars and dialogue are launched to explore the workplaces of tomorrow.
For the exhibition, three segments of the day are interpreted: warm-up, production, and reflection—typical phases of an average workday. The segments in the exhibition are part of a broader, people-centered discussion on how the workplace of the future not only looks but functions holistically, helping us understand how we can bring them to life in real-world workplace architecture.
