At Grundschule Auf dem Windmühlenberge in Isernhagen, northern Germany, learning takes place not only in the classroom but also in the spaces in between, where students gather, eat, move, and connect. One such space is the school’s former gymnasium, which has been carefully redesigned to support a calmer and more inviting atmosphere through improved acoustics and a playful visual language.

“A perfect complement to our Picnic in the Forest concept in terms of quality, color, and design language.”

Agnes Biadatz, Managing Director and Interior Architect at Agalis Innenarchitektur.

As part of the design concept Picnic in the Forest, Zilenzio’s Delta Ceiling and Delta Wall were selected for their sound-absorbing qualities and visual versatility.

With 28 fabric collections and hundreds of colors to choose from, Delta could be easily matched to the intended look and feel. Made of stone wool, both absorbers provide exceptional sound absorption, helping reduce noise and bring a sense of calm to the space and the students.

“The product was a perfect complement to our Picnic in the Forest concept in terms of quality, color, and design language, while also enhancing the acoustics in the former gymnasium of the elementary school in Isernhagen thanks to its properties. Combined with the wall design and the suspended elements, it integrated beautifully into the overall aesthetic,” says Agnes Biadatz, Managing Director and Interior Architect at Agalis Innenarchitektur.
