Sound absorption on glass walls

Meeting and conference rooms are spaces where ideas take shape, decisions are made, and people need to stay focused. That requires a good sound environment, but when these rooms have glass walls, achieving good acoustics can be a real challenge.

When does investing in acoustics pay off

Acoustics is often seen as a “nice to have.” Something that should be there, but rarely gets much room in the budget. At the same time, the sound environment affects some of an organization’s most valuable resources: people’s time, focus, and performance.

Acoustic panels dressed in art

A new collaboration brings together the power of first-class acoustics and the bold beauty of contemporary art. Dezibel Art by Zilenzio and Paper Collective turns ordinary walls into spaces you want to linger in – where design, wellbeing, and creativity meet.

Introducing: Giro

Background noise in the workplace

It might sound strange. Especially coming from someone who specializes in reducing noise, but today we’d like to talk to you about sound masking. Or more specifically, we want to talk about combining sound absorption and sound masking. Because that’s how we can create an even better work environment—one that makes both your colleagues and your bottom line happier.

Our history

We are celebrating 20 years of creating better acoustic environments in workplaces and schools. Our journey began in a small basement in Örebro, where Jenny Helldén and Marie Lindqvist Pahlstad developed their idea of a sound-absorbing floor screen. Join us as we look back on our history and explore why it’s so important to minimize noise and visual distractions.

The Satisfaction Promise

Noise distractions can significantly hinder performance, leading to increased stress and reduced efficiency. This is where our latest initiative, The Satisfaction Promise, comes into play.

We admit it: We are passionate about noise reduction and minimizing visual distractions, no question about it! For over 20 years, we have helped offices, schools, and public environments to deliver better results in their operations…

How sound environments influence stress

The human brain is a marvel. It has taken us into space. Discovered vaccines. Created music, art, and inventions. And at the same time, another process is happening every second of your waking life.

The noise in your ears – and eyes. How

What are the similarities between auditory and visual noise? How do they actually affect us? We asked Christina Bodin – architect, teacher at the School of Architecture at KTH in Stockholm and researcher in the field of the interaction between humans and their environment.

Is your noise level green?

Sound and noise are often presented in different units and rates, e.g., decibels, N10, NRC, ABC classification, and so on. The issue with all these terms is that they are difficult to understand in practice.

Help your inner savanna man

We are still more or less the same as our ancestors who roamed the savanna more than 100,000 years ago. Our savanna instincts make it hard to thrive in offices and other indoor environments – that is, unless we create the right conditions.

Noise levels cause dissatisfied employee

Only 32.8% are satisfied with the sound environment in their workplace – in other words, nearly 67 % are dissatisfied. This means that unwanted noise is the second most important issue in the office.

Why noise is bad for business

Phones ringing, loud conversations, a copier in high gear and the constant dings of incoming emails from colleagues’ computers. Sound familiar? For many, it is an accurate description of their everyday work environment.
