At Sparkasse Hegau-Bodensee’s new branch in Singen, Germany, an open, welcoming interior makes room for both advice and focused work. The space takes inspiration from the contours of the region’s river landscapes. Focus Table and Focus Floor complement this flowing design while providing visual separation for employees.

A sense of privacy in an open space
Ten open-plan workstations sit at the heart of the branch. For the employees, the emphasis was on reducing visual distractions while preserving the openness of the space.
Focus Table helps define a personal space around the desks, while Focus Floor provides visual separation within the open work area. Their soft forms create a calmer, more visually pleasing setting that complements the welcoming character of the interior.
Shapes inspired by the landscape
Knoblauch’s design concept for Sparkasse draws on the river landscapes of the Hegau-Bodensee region, with organic forms and natural shades of green and red. The flexible construction of Focus Floor allowed the room divider to follow a wave-shaped line, carrying the concept into the workspace.
“The shape of the products was what convinced us most. Thanks to the flexible material, we were able to reflect the ‘river landscape’ concept through the wave shape of the room divider. The acoustic desk screens also soften the overall appearance much more than conventional straight screens,” says Katharina Brinkmann, interior designer at Konrad Knoblauch.
The screens bring the flowing shapes of the wider interior closer to each workstation, creating visual boundaries with a soft, inviting feel.
Katharina also highlights the quick responses from the Zilenzio team:
“Your team always responded very quickly, and, of course, we really like the products themselves.”
